Childcare - Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship at East Surrey College
The CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares students to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.
• Theme 1: Health and well-being
• Theme 2: Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
• Theme 3: Play, development and learning for school readiness
• Theme 4: Professional development
You must have GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English. You must be in paid work for a minimum of 30 hours per week. It is essential you have the right mind-set for working full time and studying at the same time. Having a can-do attitude, being flexible
and reliable are also important. You must also be able to communicate effectively with others.
Working with your Assessor you will put together a portfolio of evidence to meet the criteria. This will include observation in the workplace, written tasks, discussion and work products.
If you are under 19 when you start your apprenticeship then tuition is free. If you are 19 or over please call our Employer Services team for advice and guidance on funding and eligibility.
Upon achievement of this qualification students will gain their licence to practise and it is intended that students will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators. Students can progress into various job roles in the statutory, voluntary
or private sectors such as:
• Assistant in children's centres
• Practitioner in nursery schools
• Practitioner in reception classes in primary schools
• Pre-school worker
