Electrical Installation Level 1 Diploma at Sheffield College
This is a one year full time course.
About the course
There are seven core units that make up this course. You will learn about the structure of the construction industry and fundamental safe working practices. You will also develop skills in preparing a site for work and consideration of environmental and suitable measures in domestic dwellings.
The course covers electrical science and technology and you will learn about electrical installation wiring, terminations and fabrication techniques for electrical installation.
This course will not make you a qualified electrician. In order to achieve this you will need to gain further qualifications and on site practical experience.
Approximately 50% of the course is theory and contextual work and 50% practical. You are expected to study functional skills in English, maths and ICT where necessary.
Personal Study Time
You are expected to work independently on project work away from the college.
