Information and Communication Technology AS at Coulsdon Sixth Form College

Course description

Course content: The course is designed to emphasise the technical skills and knowledge required to exploit current IT systems in an imaginative and responsible manner. Both the AS and A Level courses involve the development of software packages that will enable you to resolve real business problems using databases, spreadsheets and web design. In both the AS and A2 year one piece of coursework and one exam needs to be completed.

See "What other learning could you do"You could take this course to complement other advanced level courses or to prepare for the A2 part of an Advanced GCE in Information and Communication Technology, which could lead onto higher education in areas of Information and Communication Technology or more general higher education courses as the course offers skills that are useful in lots of subjects. With further training you could go into a job directly related to Information and Communication Technology such as a Computer Programmer, ICT Technician or Website Developer. You could also go straight into a job as the AS GCE is a recognised qualification that will help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge for entering today's workforce across many industries who depend on computers and technology more generally.
