Horticulture / Landscaping Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at Warwickshire College Group
The horticulture industry offers a wide range of opportunities, careers and enterprise activities for skilled, dynamic and creative students to fulfil their potential within a demanding and expanding sector. Teaching and learning will take place within the college grounds and off site in public and private residences.
The level 3 course provides the opportunity for students to gain experience, knowledge and qualifications within specific pathways of the industry. The pathways will focus on amenity horticulture (maintenance and establishment of parks and playing fields), production horticulture, (working in fruit or vegetable production), design and landscape (designing gardens and building) and retail.
Four GCSEs at grade C or above, to include English Language, Maths and Science, or successful completion of a Level 2 qualification at a merit grade overall, together with a tutor's recommendation. Experienced students may be considered without the above.
The course has assessments each week and projects run throughout the year, so successful students have to be committed and willing to put in some hours of work at home.
Progression onto a Level 3 Extended Diploma course or an Apprenticeship.
