Vocational Studies (Sport) BTEC Level 1 Diploma at Chelmsford College

Course description

Linked to the Sport, Public Services, Travel and Tourism and Business evnvironment this course is designed to explore personal development for employability, across different vocational areas to allow you the flexibility of choice with your level 2 progression opportunites in the future. You learn by completing different projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.

Entry requirements

To have completed secondary education up to and including year 11.


There are no external examinations; all units are assessed by internal assignments, presentations, tests and practical activities.

You may progress to BTEC Level 2 Diploma in a variety of curriculum areas, subject to any other specific entry requirements.

    • Our Moulsham Street campus has everything you would expect from a modern, well-equipped college campus - and much more besides. Here you will find excellent facilities for work, study and relaxation, laid out over a four-floor site with car parking and good links to buses. 

      The campus offers the highest quality teaching and support within a relaxed, student-focused atmosphere. Our facilities have been redeveloped in recent years and we now boast a new Art, Design and Media centre, as well as a new welcome area with internet cafe and landscaped outside area for students to relax and socialise.

      In addition to Art & Design and Media, our Moulsham Street campus also houses our Childcare and Health & Social Care departments; Applied Science and Extended Learning departments; Sport and Public Services departments. As well as Business, IT and Travel & Tourism.

      The campus also houses a Learning Centre, Skills Development Centre, Assessment Centre, Tutorial Centre, a Copyshop and Refectory. Situated on the grounds of this campus are Dovedale Nursery and Dovedale Sports Centre.
