Course description

The BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Sport & Exercise Sciences is designed to equip learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed for progression into employment or further educational opportunities in the Sport industry

Course content

The Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport and Exercise Sciences is a 60 credit and 360 guided learning hour qualification that consists of three mandatory units plus a further 3 units for a total of 60 credits.

Mandatory Units

  • Anatomy for Sport and Exercise
  • Sport and Exercise Physiology
  • Sport and Exercise Psychology

Selected Units

  • Fitness Testing for Sport & Exercise
  • Instructing Physical Activity & Exercise
  • Practical Individual Sports

Entry requirements

Students should have previously completed a BTEC Level 2 First in Sport at Merit or above, GCSE PE at grade C or above or have achieved at least 5 A*-C GCSEs and a keen interest in sport.

Assessment

All units are internally assessed through set assignments and projects.

Future opportunities

With this course students can progress into careers in the sports industry or into higher or further education in the sports field.
