Course description

What will I learn?

... how to develop and implement support for individuals in a health and social care environment, understand and implement best practice principles in health and social care, support the emotional and physical well being of adults, conduct assessments and develop personal care plans. You will also improve your Maths and English as well as your knowledge about working in health and social care. You can adapt your learning to meet your interests and what you do in your job.

Entry requirements

ìdeally you will have completed the Health and Social Care Intermediate Apprenticeship, or may have a good GCSE grades or relevant experience in a health and social care role. You must be over 18, enthusiatic, reliable and happy to learn from feedback from your tutors and employer.

Assessment

you collect evidence to prove competency in a health and social care environment in your E-portfolio. You will take bite size online tests for you Maths, English and ICT. Your knowledge is assessed by online multiple choice tests and through your E-portfolio.

Future opportunities

you can do the next level - a Higher Apprenticeship in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or choose to develop your skills by undertaking continued professional development courses or specialise in areas such as Dementia or Special Educational needs. You can carry on earning money and get more qualifications, keeping your options open. You can further your study and apply to university.
