ICT - BTEC Level 3 at Bolton St Catherine's Academy

Course description


Information Technology is a field that offers an array of employment or educational options. This highly flexible course offers you the opportunity to either step into the world of work or study further at university or on an apprenticeship.

Course content

There will be 6 units of work that will be delivered over a two year period. There will be some practical elements as part of some of the units, these will also be assessed. You will cover skills and attributes employers value, computer hardware and software, graphics, animation and Networking.

Entry requirements

Preferred level 5 in Maths and English, Level 5 in GCSE ICT or Computer Science, Distinction in BTEC ICT.  Any other applications wil be considered with an interview by the IT department and the student to assess suitability

Future opportunities

As well as allowing you the option to study in further education, this course is suited to careers including; Network manager, teacher training, programmer, web designer, graphic designer or system designer.
