Children's and Young Peoples Workforce CACHE Level 2 Certificate at Southport College

Course description

This course will equip you with the knowledge, skills and competencies to work with children and young people within the age range of 0 to 19 years.

Course content

You will learn about a range of subject areas covering all aspects of childcare, health and education, including: 
Introduction to communication 
Support positive behaviour 
Equality of opportunity 
Partnership working 
Practical placements specialising in children aged under seven 

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs at grade D or Level 1 Diploma in related subject Satisfactory DBS* 
Successful interview 
Satisfactory reference 


You will be continuously assessed throughout the course with internal assignments and practical observation. 
As part of this course you will also undertake a 2 day per week work-placement in a relevant childcare setting and three block weeks throughout the year
This qualification does not qualify you to practice.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of the course, you may progress on to further study at Level 3 such as: the Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce, Health and Social Care or Public Services
