Government and Politics A level Edexcel at Wimbledon College

Course description

Politics is a popular and well regarded subject and complements other arts and social science subjects like History, English, Geography, Sociology or Religious Studies. The course provides a useful grounding for careers in politics, law and journalism among others. There is an opportunity to visit the Houses of Parliament and possibly also the European Parliament in Brussels.

Entry requirements

For Level 3 courses - five or more GCSEs at grades A* to C, with at least 3 B grades entry requirement for each course – this is usually a grade B or better in each subject to be taken at Advanced Level (or BTEC3) or relevant cognate subjects as set out in the published entry requirements (see page 12) for Level 2 courses - five or more GCSEs at A*-D

Assessment

The course is assessed through four external examinations with the first two sat at the end of the AS and an additional two making up the A Level.
