Children's Play, Learning and Development at Highcliffe School

Course description

The course will provide you with an understanding of how children develop and learn. It will not offer occupational competency but will allow you to combine this course with other A Level subjects.

Course content

This course will develop knowledge and skills to work with children and their families in a variety of settings and environments within the sector of Children's Services.

Entry requirements

Grade C in Maths and English (these could be taken alongside this course if you have not achieved these grades). Students are required to undertake a Police Check.

Assessment

AS Level: Child Development, Play and Learning exam.
A Level: Mandatory - Health and Safety in Early Years Settings, Safeguarding in Early Years, Observation, Assessment and Planning - internal assesment.
