Boys and Girls Norwich City Football and Education Shadow Programme at Bishop Laney Sixth Form

Course description

An ideal opportunity for any young football player interested in developing their football ability while studying one of the pathways Bishop Laney has to offer. A study programme to suit the requirements of the study will be accompanied by accessing training from UEFA B coaches through the Norwich City Way.

Course content

Students will receive specialist training and have the chance to represent Norwich City FC in the English Colleges League, in addition to regular trips to Carrow Park to compete in an internal Futsal tournament with other Norwich City FC programmes. The Educational delivery conducted by Bishop Laney 6th form.

Students must choose their chosen/preferred course along side the Norwich Programme.

Entry requirements

Level 3 programme of study - 5 grade 4-9 (A* - C) or at GCSE, including English Language, or individual requirement for the course selected.  You are also required to be selected through one of Norwich City's playing trials.

For a Level 2 course, the entry requirements differ.


The educational course studied will be assessed through modular assessments, through external exam or internal assessments for BTEC courses or examination for A leevl courses.

Financial information

All students training with Norwich City under the scholarship programme have Training kit to purchase.

Future opportunities

At the end of the programme, students will take part in exit trials to help players find clubs or to continue their football development. Apprenticeship opportunities in coaching or University applications would be supported from studying this programme.
