Professional Travel Operations Diploma level 3 at Leicester College

Course description

This is the first year of a one/two year study programme that is designed to provide you with the opportunity to study a wide range of Travel and Tourism practical based subjects. As part of your study programme you will also study maths and English through either GCSE re-takes or Functional Skills, dependant on individual needs and qualifications already gained. In addition you will have the opportunity to undertake a work experience placement as part of your study programme. The course includes a variety of enrichment opportunities including guest speaker, day trips and also residential trips which are closely linked to the course content.

Course content

The course is studied over one or two years, and you will complete either the Diploma or Extended Diploma, depending upon how many units you complete. Year One subjects include Worldwide Travel and Tourism Destinations, Resort Operations, Developing People in Travel and Tourism and Conferences and Events. Second year units include Responding to Emergency Situations in Resort, Developing an Entertainment Programme and Holiday Park Hosts.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE's at Grade C including English and Maths (or equivalent) or a Level 2 Travel Operations (or a related subject). International qualifications will also be considered.

Successful completion of this course will allow you to progress onto the HND in Travel and Tourism or other relevant HE qualifications or seek employment within the travel industry.
