Course description

This is an innovative and fast paced course that introduces you to a wide range of skills aimed at preparing you for a career as a software designer across a broad range of applications. You will focus on developing key programming skills for software development, covering procedural programming, event driven and object orientated programming using C#, Visual Basic and JAVA.

Course content

This is an innovative and fast paced course that introduces you to a wide range of skills aimed at preparing you for a career as a software designer across a broad range of applications. You will focus on developing key programming skills for software development, covering procedural programming, event driven and object orientated programming using C#, Visual Basic and JAVA.

Entry requirements

You will need 5 GCSEs at grades A* to C or 4 – 9 including English and mathematics with maths or Computer Science at B or 6.

or a Level 2 IT qualification at Distinction grade including English at C or 4 and mathematics at grade B or 6.

Assessment

This course is assessed through coursework and assignments.

Future opportunities

You can progress onto a wide range of degrees in related areas or enter employment as a web developer, games tester, computer animator or a computer games designer all industries that are going through significant growth.
