Travel & Tourism Extended Diploma Level 3 at Birmingham Metropolitan College (BMET)

Course description

This course is targeted at those who have aspirations of a career in the Travel and Tourism Industry or are aiming for higher education. The course is a specialist work-related programme of study that covers the skills required in the Sector. You are given the opportunity to develop a more comprehensive understanding of the industry, at an advanced level. You will spend time working both in the classroom and out on trips. Previous trips have included Manchester Airport, Cadbury World, Hilton Hotel, Madame Tussauds and the Peak District. In addition, at the beginning of your course you will need to supply a smart white shirt and a black trouser/skirt and purchase from the College a cravat/tie, red t-shirt and a red hoody.

Entry requirements

You will need 4 GCSEs at grade C or above including GCSE English and Maths.

Assessment

Our course is 100% course work and you will complete practical projects, presentations, reports and a portfolio. Some sections will be completed individually and some in a group to help you develop team working skills.

Future opportunities

On completion of the Extended Diploma you have the opportunity to progress onto the Higher National Diploma in Travel and Tourism. Alternatively, you may like to consider a career as a Travel Agent, Customer Service Agent at a Hotel or working as a Passenger Service Agent at any International Airport.
