A Level Professional Honours Programme - Engineering at Wigan & Leigh College

Course description

This new programme has been developed to provide you with the very best opportunities to enable you to develop

the essential skills needed to secure your chosen career path and for your future success. We have combined both traditional academic A Level subjects with essential professional related experiences

to offer you a comprehensive programme of study.

Course content

You will study 4 AS subjects in the first year: Maths, Computing Science, Physics and a further AS Level. You will have a dedicated Professional Development Day where you will further your studies and knowledge: Work experience, Performing Engineering Operations qualification (PEO), Extended Project Qualification.

Entry requirements

NEW GCSE TARIFF

8 GCSEs graded 5-9 of which a minimum of 4 GCSEs graded 6-9 (including English, maths and science)

OLD GCSE TARIFF

8 GCSEs graded A*-C of which a minimum of 4 GCSEs graded B (including English, maths and science)

Applicants will be invited to an interview and will also complete an entrance exam.

Assessment

You will undertake external examinations, produce coursework and practical assessments.
