Accounting Apprenticeship at Northampton College

Course description

The accounting industry is thriving in the UK but to maintain high standards, training is vital. Designed to enable your staff to obtain a fully accredited qualification whilst in a professional environment, an Apprenticeship offers excellent hands on experience. An Apprenticeship will allow you to train your staff to national standards whilst building a loyal and experienced workforce. The apprentice will complete the following:- AAT Accounting Foundation Level 2- Functional Skills Level 2 in English- Functional Skills Level 1 in Mathematics- Employees Rights and Responsibilities- Personal Learning and Thinking skillsExamples of units covered: - Double entry book-keeping- Administrative Processes- Sales and General Ledgers

Course content

Anyone currently in an accountancy/book-keeping environment. Ideally the apprentice will possess a good level of Maths. The Apprentice must become a registered member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).

Entry requirements

You must be in relevant employment to start an Apprenticeship.You must pass the initial assessment.


Both exam and portfolio of work. The candidate must attend the College one day a week and the Assessor will visit the workplace to review every 12 weeks.
