Professional Cookery NVQ Diploma Level 3 at West Kent College

Course description

Take your professional food preparation and supervisory techniques to an advanced level.

Through work experience and practical and class-based sessions, the course covers:

- Positive working relationships in hospitality
- Risk assessments and how to reduce the risk of accidents in the workplace
- How to prepare and cook complex dishes, including fish, poultry, soups, sauces, vegetables and desserts

You will need to purchase equipment and clothing from an external supplier.

Entry requirements

You need to have four GCSEs A*-C, one of which should be English or Maths. You should be employed in an appropriate setting within the industry for a minimum of 16 hours per week.

Successful completion of Level 2 catering.

You must have attended the course taster day.

Future opportunities

Management or related higher level courses.
