Course description

Duration: 1 year

Learn basic skills for work in hospitality and catering industry.

As part of your introduction to the catering industry, you will learn important skills that employers look for, such as:

- Customer Service
- Basic Food Preparation and Cooking techniques
- Food Safety
- Health and safety in the workplace
- Planning and attending a work placement

Full study programme details are available from the catering department team.

The course includes work experience and Maths and English functional skills or GCSE.

You will need to purchase equipment and clothing from an external supplier. All course costs will be discussed at interview.

You must also attend a Taster day to confirm your suitability for this course.

Entry requirements

English and Maths at Entry Level 2. You must have an interest in catering and have attended the course taster day.

Future opportunities

You could progress on to a relevant Level 1 Catering course.
