Social and Enterprise Activity (SEA) - Level 1 at College of West Anglia

Course description

The BTEC certificate in work skills qualification will help you to demonstrate that you have the personal skills, qualities and attitudes needed by employers. They will help you to look for, obtain and maintain employment. By developing your skills and confidence, these qualifications may also help you progress to further learning. 

Course content

They are made up of a wide variety of units which include: 

- Working in a team 
- Health and safety at work 
- Planning and running an enterprise activity 
- Preparing for work placement 
- Personal presentation in the workplace

Entry requirements

We would look for you to have successfully completed a relevant level 1 qualification and/or have appropriate skills and experiences in working with the 5-19 age range.

Assessment

This exciting new course provides learners with the opportunity to develop social awareness and enterprise skills both in and out of the classroom. The course will provide opportunities to experience either work placement or volunteering for a minimum of one day per week supported by other activities such as retail in shops and market stalls. The intent is to firmly provide the learners with the necessary experiences that will help them gain employment or skills to progress onto a relevant level 2 course.

Financial information

Age 16-18
If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay a course fee; however, all full-time courses have a resource fee attached and there may also be additional fees for materials, kits and trips.

Age 19+

Fees for students aged 19+ vary according to programme, age and circumstances.
