Food Technology BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Blatchington Mill School and Sixth Form College

Course description

Do you love Food? Are you interested in developing your cooking skills as well learning about food and ingredients?

Food is the central focus of this course and students have the opportunity to study a varied programme of practical activities including experiments, recipe development, food science and product analysis. Nutrition and health are also important areas of study.

Course content

The course will allow you to investigate current trends and develop specific foods to meet consumer demands. We will look at the advances in Food Technology and the impact that it has on lifestyle and the environment. New food product development is an exciting area of study as the food industry is one of the UK’s major industries.

Entry requirements

At least a C Grade in Science

This exciting and creative course will be of particular interest to anyone who wishes to work in the following: Food Scientist, Food Journalist, Food Product Development, Food Merchandiser/Buyer/Advisor, Environmental Health, Dietician, Public Health Worker, or pursue a career in nursing, teaching and sport nutrition.
