Course description

This course must be taken in both Blocks D and E.

Overview

The course is equivalent to two A Levels, which means that when you have finished the course you have the choice of entering directly into employment or going into Higher Education. This 12 unit certificate provides a specialist, work-related programme of study that covers the knowledge and skills required in business. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations and demands.

Unit 1: Exploring Business Activity

Unit 2: Investigating Business Resources

Unit 3: Introduction to Marketing

Unit 4: Effective People, Communication and Information.

In addition you will study eight specialist units.

Progression Routes

Successful completion of the course could lead on to a Foundation Degree or Degree in Business or a Business-related topic or into employment in accountancy, financial management, law, marketing or human resources.

Entry requirements

To study the Technical and Applied General Programme, you should have achieved an A*-C in at least five different subjects with a grade 4 or above in English Language and mathematics.
