Childcare and Education (NCFE CACHE) Level 3 at Rotherham College
You could be on your way to a career as an early years practitioner or childcare supervisor after you have developed your knowledge and skills through studying a nationally recognised qualification.
•Theoretical aspects of childcare and education.
•Develop an in-depth knowledge of children’s care, learning and development
•Enhance your professional development
•Undertake over 800 hours of work experience through placements
•Five GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and maths
•Or a Level 2 qualification, BTEC First Diploma or CACHE Level 2 Diploma in a related subject with GCSE English grade C
•You will be required to have a clear Criminal Records Bureau check and provide two positive references
•Assignments, practical activities and vocational presentations
•Vocational practice will be assessed through observation while on placement
•You will produce four portfolios of evidence, one for each setting
•An externally set exam for First Aid
Learners aged under 19 are entitled to free tuition, so there will be no course fees to pay. Additional funding may be available depending on household income - please contact the Enquiry Team for further details.
By completing the Level 3 diploma you will also have the opportunity to progress on to study early years teaching, social work, play-work or early childhood studies at a university level or continue studying with the College on our Foundation Degree in Childhood Studies. You may also be able to go onto a teaching degree if you meet the requirements.
