Plumbing and Mechanical Engineering Services Level 3 at PETROC

Course description

The Level 3 qualification is aimed at those who have already completed the Level 2 qualification or have some relevant experience and knowledge of the industry. The practical side of this course involves underfloor heating, unvented and boosted cold water.

Course content

This qualification delves into installation and system design embarking on a design project including hot cold and central heating and sanitation systems. There are options available for the qualification, the options currently provided are: Gas, Oil and Solar Thermal. The gas and oil options require you to be working frequently in this field.

Entry requirements

You must be employed in the relevant industry. Successful completion of Level 2 Plumbing course and Grade C GCSE Maths and Grade C GCSE English or equivalent.

Assessment

trained and skilled assessor will visit you in the workplace to monitor your progress and to assess your skills and knowledge. The assessor will give you targets to achieve until the next visit.

Future opportunities

On completion of this course you will be fully qualified, however may wish to progress to a supervisory or management qualifications or a Foundation Degree.

Further information

Theory sessions will be taught in fully equipped classrooms with Smart Boards and other teaching and learning devices. Workshops will be used to deliver the practical training.
