Course description

What is Furniture and Interior Occupations?

A wide variety of Apprenticeships are available within the Furniture Industry. These include Apprenticeships to train to become a Wood machinist, General Furniture Manufacturer, Furniture CNC specialist, Fitted Furniture Installer, Furniture Finishing, Modern Upholsterer, Furniture Restorer, Foam Converter and Upholstery Cushion Manufacturer, Modern Furniture Service Restorer or a Bed Maker.

 

What training will I receive?

Regardless of the specific Apprenticeship within the Furniture Industry you will receive comprehensive training whatever the Apprenticeship. This will include the opportunity to attend our Centre Of Vocational Excellence in furniture manufacture, to further enhance your knowledge and skills. Every Apprentice will have specialised tuition by our time served qualified NLTG Training Officers, this will assist you to achieve the qualification within a set timescale.

Which qualifications will I achieve?

Depending on your abilities/employer’s training opportunities, you will follow one of two routes:

 

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship:

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in your chosen skill

Technical Certificate

Functional Skills

Employee Rights and Responsibilities

Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

 

Advanced Level Apprenticeship:

Level 3 NVQ Diploma in your chosen skill

Technical Certificate

Functional Skills

Employee Rights and Responsibilities

Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

 

CoVE

Our Centre of Vocational Excellence, based at our Head Office in Accrington, offers specialist facilities where learners can undertake practical training in all areas of furniture and manufacturing.

NLTG have years of expertise within the industry and can train learners in all areas of woodmachining including Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and AlphaCam Licom Systems.

Furniture Assembly, Upholstery, Cutting and Sewing and Polishing and Finishing are training services also available in the CoVE.
