Course description

Enhance performance skills through technical training. Gain experience in performing and choreographing. Explore a variety of different choreographers and their works. Course Overview

Year 1

Unit 1: DANC1 Understanding Dance. Knowledge and understanding of performance and choreography and the ability to recognise the significance of own work and professional repertoire.
Unit 2: DANC2 Choreography and Performance. Experience of choreography and performance through practice.

Year 2

Unit 3: DANC3 Dance Appreciation. Content and Context: This unit requires the candidate to demonstrate an understanding of the development of dance through the study of the context in which dances are presented and from which they are derived. 
Unit 4: DANC4 Group Choreography and Solo Performance.Developing and extending understanding of skills experienced in Unit 2 with direct links to theoretical study in Unit 3.

 

Entry requirements

Previous experience in Dance helpful but not essential.

Future opportunities

Foundation/BA (Hons) degree in dance or dance theatre.
