BTEC Extended Diploma in Childrens Care Learning & Development at Park Hall Academy
Children's Play Learning and Development is a course designed to cover in some detail all of the various needs of children, including their physical needs such as the types of food that are best for them (and nutritional guidelines), the benefits of play and learning activities, and safeguarding children - through to their psychological needs - love, security, positive reinforcement of behaviour and education.
We work closely with employers, early years organisations, early years specialists and higher education representatives to ensure that you have a wide range of experience in Early Years settings and also have the best preparation for the future. Students spend one day per week on work placements and a two week block placement at the end of each term at a:
Nursery, Pre school, Reception/Year1, Year 2
You will study the importanace of play to the devolopment of a childs self confidence and social skills. You will develop knowledge and understanding of why Active learning is seen as an appropriate way for children to develop vital skills and knowledge and as a positive attitude to learning. As early years specialists you will learn to encourage active learning which engages and challenges children's thinking using real life and imaginary situations.
Grade C or above at GCSE English, Maths and Science
You will gain many transferrable skills that you learn and develop whilst on this course. The knowledge that you will gain will prepare you for a range of careers and university courses such as:
Edexcel Btec Level 3 Extended Diploma in Children's Play, Learning and Development.
Equivalent to 3.5 A Levels
