MUSIC BTEC Level 2 First Certificate at Rye Studio School

Course description

The BTEC Level 2 First Certificate in Music is a two year course that aims to
give students a foundation in how the music industry works, and the rehearsal
skills needed for successful music performance. There are 7 units to complete
over the two years, including rehearsal skills, live performance and also studio
performance skills.
 
No prior skills or qualifications are needed for entry to the course, though it
is advisable to have some experience of singing or playing guitar or piano.
Students who have a strong interest in performing music and learning about
the music industry but do not have experience of playing an instrument or
singing are strongly advised to to undertake instrumental or voice tuition while
on the course.
 
Additional benefits of the course are improved confidence, communication
skills and teamwork skills.

Experience of music in Key Stage 3 and/or music experience beyond school
