Advanced Apprenticeship

Within the Advanced Apprenticeship, you will gain a Level 3 Diploma and NVQ in Construction.

Other areas of the qualification include:

  • Functional Skills Level  2  in Maths  and English
  • Functional Skills Level 2  in ICT if required as part of the framework
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

Length of Course - 12 - 24 months

During the Apprenticeship, you will cover areas such as:

  • Plumbing and Heating 
  • Construction Specialist (Pathway 1 - Accessing and Rigging Scaffolding) 
  • Construction Civil Engineering 
  • Construction Technical and Professional
  • Construction Building 

Who is it for?

Construction is a huge industry with various different routes that can be taken, such as joinery, bricklaying and plumbing.

If you want a varied job that makes good use of your practical skills and takes you out and about, this could be perfect for you.

You will need to be good at solving problems, have the ability to follow technical plans, and understand the importance of health and safety. You’ll also need good customer care skills.

Course content

Level 3 Diploma and NVQ in Construction.

Entry requirements

To start an Apprenticeship in Construction at either Level 2 or 3, you need to have a job or a placement in the industry as it is a work-based qualification.

You do not always need academic qualifications to start training for a career in Construction. However, some employers may prefer you to have a good standard of general Education such as GCSE's, including English and maths.

Financial information

Aged 16-18
Fully funded

Aged 19-23
Fully funded for employers with less than 1000 employees. For employers with 1000+ employees, please contact us for further details.

Aged 24 and over
Total People require employers to make a contribution towards the cost for all learners aged 24 years and over, embarking on an Apprenticeship.

Future opportunities

After completing your Apprenticeship in any of the Construction Trades, you will be able to progress onto further qualifications or promote to higher positions including supervisor and managerial.
