Production Arts (Costume) UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma at The City of Liverpool College

Course description

The course has been specifically designed to provide a range of skills in this specialist area. It is aimed at those working to expand their skills in theatre costume at the same time gaining a qualifications at Level 3.

The course consists of costume design, script and character analysis, history of fashion, engaging the audience through design, interpretation of design, flat pattern cutting, drapery, underwear such as corsets, petticoats etc. , outerwear, fittings and alterations, construction and finishing techniques, the construction of accessories, including masks and millinery (hat making). You will be expected to solve complex problems through the application of practical, theoretical and technical understanding.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at Grade C or above or equivalent plus an interview.

Future opportunities

Employment within the theatre environment, wardrobe maintenance, props, design, costume or BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma Production Arts.
