Professional Cookery NVQ Level 3 Diploma at LeSoCo

Course description

On this course, you will learn how to work in specialist kitchen areas as a chef de partie (game, fish, shellfish and poultry), and also act as head chef in the running of our commercial fine dining restaurant. You will learn how to plan themed events, and optimise advanced knife skills in the kitchen. The programme contains internal and external competitions and also includes a two-days-a-week work placement (lasting for 30 weeks) in a high-end fine dining restaurant. We have a track record of over 90 per cent of students, completing Level 3, gaining a job within their placement restaurant.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grades A*-C; one of which must be GCSE English or GCSE Mathematics. Or successful completion of a Level 2 substantial qualification in a related subject - plus an initial assessment that indicates an appropriate level of English and mathematical ability, and a satisfactory reference.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of this course means that you can work in a variety of restaurants, contract catering, event catering or even start you own business.
