Children and Young People’s Workforce Cache Level 2 Certificate at Oldershaw Academy
CACHE qualifications are exciting new one or two year courses. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on real workplace situations and activities. The course will include up to 480 hours in a commercial Day Nursery. Not only will you gain a nationally recognised qualification but at the end of the training period you will have had two years of continuous weekly work experience, equipping you with skills and knowledge required by universities and employers.
The course will enable you to build a portfolio of work. You will develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes which are essential for successful performance in working life. Child and young person development from birth to 19 years of age. Children’s rights, safeguarding children, health and safety as well as personal development. Level 2 will offer direct progression to the Level 3 Diploma. Level 3 Diploma will offer direct progression to the Level 3 Extended Diploma.
The courses are made up of a mixture of core mandatory units and optional units based on skills and knowledge. Successful completion of the course will provide you with career opportunities within the early years and social care sector.
Level 2 requires you to have 4 GCSEs at grade E or above including Maths and English.
Level 3 requires you to have 4 GCSEs at grade D or above including Maths and English. If you do not achieve GCSE grade C in Maths or English, you can re-sit these examinations in the Sixth Form.
The CACHE Level 3 Extended Diploma carries with it 420 UCAS points achieved at A* thus opening the door to Higher Education. Employment opportunities include, Local Authority, Private Nursery, Voluntary Sector and opportunities to work abroad.
