Course description

Travel & Tourism is a wide-ranging, fast-growing and dynamic industry offering a huge variety of employment opportunities. This course covers a variety of topics that introduce you to the basic concepts of the industry and help you to develop a range of skills to prepare for work at operator level or to progress to a level 3 BTEC course.


Course content

This is an ideal course to develop a range of skills and techniques that are essential for successful performance in working life, including independent research skills and team working.

Entry requirements

A minimum of three grade Ds and one grade E at GCSE which included Maths and English or a Pass in a Level 2 BTEC/OCR course will count as one GCSE equivalent.


8 units of which 25% externally assessed 75% coursework.

Financial information

Visits to attractions such as Thorpe Park and British Airways.

Future opportunities

Students may progress to a variety of careers at junior level, including Sales Consultant or Receptionist. However, the majority of students progress on to a Level 3 BTEC course to further their studies, either at Strode’s or another college.
