Introducing Caring for Children and Young People Level 2 at East Kent College
Perfect if you are keen to take your first steps towards becoming a qualified Early Years Practitioner.
You’ll learn skills needed to work in childcare, such as how to engage with young children, development through play, and the learning opportunities in a nursery or home environment. Additional units will include babysitting and customer service skills. You can look forward to the chance to work in our on-site nursery alongside industry professionals. This Study Programme will include English and Maths at an appropriate level, and it will support the development of skills towards employability and suitability to progress onto the next level of study.
You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at D grades or equivalent, including Maths and English. Students may be able to progress from Level 1 vocationally related programmes.
You will learn through practical and theoretical lessons and build a portfolio of work.
If you are 16-18yrs old at the start of the Study Programme, it will be free. There may be additional payments required for trips, visits and other materials. For adult learners (over 19) financial support towards the costs of your Study Programme may be available. Eligible students may be able to get help with course related costs such as travel, equipment and childcare.
