Physics A Level at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College

Course description

AS Physics introduces some of the fundamental concepts and knowledge that underlie our understanding of the physical aspects of nature. A Level Physics extends this study. It covers some of the AS topics in more depth, and involves more rigorous and precise mathematical techniques.

This course is suitable for students who want to look at the world around them in new ways, and begin to understand how to describe it using Mathematics. A good understanding of Physics is applicable to situations in everyday life and to almost any career.

Physics is usually a specific requirement for entry to university engineering courses. However, it is a highly regarded qualification in itself and therefore is suitable preparation for almost all university courses of study

Physics opens doors to a whole host of careers: Medical Physics to Engineering; Aeronautics to Computing; Robotics to Forensics.

There is a current shortage of Physics graduates in the UK. Studying Physics at university Degree Level will place you in a selected and highly sought after group of graduates.
