Solid Plastering Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship at Northumberland College

Course description

This course is for anyone who is employed as a plasterer, who has completed the level 2 and who would like to gain an Advanced Apprenticeship qualification. An Apprenticeship is an excellent way to earn money whilst gaining practical work experience.

Course content

You will study how to fix dry lining and plasterboard products to interiors, produce plaster components, position and secure fibrous plaster components, apply plaster materials to produce complex internal and external surfaces, form screeds and granolithic finishes and how to prepare and run in-situ moulds. Ideal if you wish to progress from Level 2 course.

Entry requirements

You should have a relevant Level 2 qualification and be employed in the industry.


Your progress will be assessed on site by carrying out practical activities relating to trade work and by building a portfolio of evidence of your trade competence. You will receive guidance and support relating to your progress throughout the qualification programme.

Future opportunities

After successfully completing the level 3 course you could progress on to a BTEC Level 3 in Construction and the Built Environment.
