The CILEx (Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) Level 2 Diploma for Legal Secretaries is suitable for those who wish to specialise in secretarial or administrative support in the legal and business environment.
The CILEx (Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) Level 2 Diploma for Legal Secretaries covers all aspects of the skills and knowledge required to carry out administrative and secretarial tasks within a legal environment. Skills and knowledge acquired
on the course include legal word processing covering different types of legal documentation; focussing on the use of IT in the legal and business environment; communication and business skills necessary in the legal environment.
In addition, students also undertake the OCR Level 2 Award in Text Processing (Business Professional) enabling them to acquire a general secretarial qualification covering skills such as Text Production, Word Processing, Audio Typing, and Business Presentations.
The College has a Business Centre where, during their course, students take turns to work in a business environment, undertaking real administration tasks for staff across the College.
Students also undertake either GCSE or Functional Skills in English and Maths.
3 GCSE Grades A*-C, including English Language or satisfactory completion of Level 1 Diploma in Administration or equivalent.
