A2 Level : ICT at English Martyrs Catholic School
This engaging programme is aimed at students who wish to enter into a career of ICT and / or Computing.
The units studied offer a mixed, broad, flavour of aspects relating to both areas. Units include Computer Systems, Software Design and Development, e-Commerce and Animation.
Students will study 2 units in year 13. 5 hours a week classroom time is allocated with 2 members of staff delivering the units.
The course is equivalent to 1 GCE A-Level and must be studies over the 2 years
BTEC Level 2 in Information Communication Technology - Merit or above GCSE English and Maths - Grade C or above
6 Units of Coursework all internally assessed. Each unit is weighted equally. All units must be passed in order to achieve the qualification.
Exam Board: Edexcel
You could take this course with other advanced level courses to prepare for higher education in areas of Information and Communication Technology or more general higher education courses as the course offers skills that are useful in lots of subjects. With further training you could go into a job directly related to Information and Communication Technology such as a Computer Programmer, ICT Technician or Website Developer. The course will also help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge for entering today's workforce across many industries who depend on computers and technology more generally.
