Travel and Tourism C & G Diploma Level 3 at New College Nottingham
Working in partnership with Capital FM Arena, we have developed a course that gives you the opportunity to work in a variety of roles that the industry has to offer.
Getting you fully immersed in the travel sector so you can go straight into work after completing the course, you will cover many aspects of the industry both hands on and theoretical.
After completing the course you could work for airlines, hotels, travel agents and tour operators. Plus you’ll be entering into one of the fastest growing industries in the UK.
Taking you through the skills needed to progress your career in the industry, including tour guiding and holiday park hosting, this course will ensure you are prepared and fully equipped for the world of work.
Roles you could go into include: tour guide, ski chalet host, holiday park host, conference and events co-ordinator, working in promotions and many more.
The course will provide you with an excellent knowledge of areas needed for a career in the travel industry. You will study a range of different units, all aimed at equipping you with the vital skills that travel and tourism employers are searching for.
Units you will study include:
- Customer service in travel & tourism
- Sales & promotion
- Tour guiding
- Holiday park host
- Ski chalet host
- Conference & events operations
- Worldwide geography
The course also includes a residential trip.
ncn works in partnership with Capital FM Arena to ensure that you gain real work experience in areas such as catering, crewing, event set-up, event management and front of house hospitality.
You must have ONE of the following:
- 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C, including English or maths, or equivalent
- Level 2 City & Guilds Diploma in Travel & Tourism, plus GCSE English or maths at Grade A*-C
- Level 2 City & Guilds Diploma in the Aviation Environment, plus GCSE English or maths at Grade A*-C
- Functional Skills may be accepted in place of GCSE maths and/or English
If you are over 19 but have industry experience and do not have the necessary qualifications you are welcome to apply and will be considered for interview.
You will be assessed by tests, assignments, presentations, practical activities and observations.
This course is aimed specifically at students wanting to move straight into the travel and tourism industry.
