Accounting A level **FEES PAYABLE** at Acorn Independent College
Accounting is an ideal A Level for any student interested in a future in accountancy, actuarial science, business or the financial sector. It requires students to be logical, thorough and methodical and is well suited to candidates with strong numerical and mathematical skills.
The A Level requires students to explore real business scenarios and source material and from day one they are required to examine and analyse data from a range of sources. Students will also develop the skills they need to understand and interpret share dealings, pricing and the fundamentals of trading.
Acorn House offers a variety of ways to study A Levels, so that we can help each student to achieve their best in response to their individual needs.
The Two-year programme is designed for students who have completed their GCSE courses. Most students will study four AS subjects in their first year, and three of these subjects at A2 in the second year.
The One-Year Fast-Track A Level programme runs from September to June and offers an intensive approach to the student’s chosen subject. This one-year focused approach can be useful for those who have studied AS Levels or A Levels elsewhere but may not have achieved their desired grade and wish to retake their exams.
Our 18 Month A Level course option begins in January. It is particularly suited to students who are wishing to retake the full 2-year A Level course, but who were unable to begin in September, or who wish to move schools following a term in Lower Sixth elsewhere. The first year’s worth of modules for the A Level course will be condensed into the Spring and Summer terms in Lower Sixth, ending in June. Students will then be able to complete their final year of A Level study in the ordinary calendar structure, from September to June.
