Photography at Shaftesbury School
Candidates on this one-year standalone AS course will be introduced to a variety of experiences exploring a range of photographic media, techniques and processes of both traditional and new technologies. You will explore relevant images, artefacts and resources relating to Photography and a wider range of art and design, from the past and from recent times, including European and non-European examples. You will learn how to present your work effectively to communicate your ideas, record the development of your ideas, analyse your own and others’ work in a sketchbook, develop an understanding of techniques related to the printing of photographic images, presentation, layout and mounting.
General entry requirement for Level 3 is 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C incl. English Language and Maths. Subject specific entry requirements: Grade C in GCSE English and a grade C GCSE or Merit for BTEC in Art, Textiles, Graphics or Resistant Materials.
