Course description

Unit 1: a source-based enquiry concludes a period study, developing different approaches
British Period and Enquiry Study 25% of total A Level
British Enquiry Mid Tudor Crises 1547 – 1558; British Period Study England 1547 – 1603: the Later Tudors
Unit 2: an emphasis on use of knowledge and understanding and judgement
Non-British Period Study Russia 1894 – 1941 15% of total A Level
Unit 3: a thematic study and in-depth historical interpretations
Civil Rights in the USA 1865-1992 40% of total A Level
Unit 4: Coursework Personal Study
Independent investigation of a historical issue 20% of total A level

Entry requirements

You will need a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above.It is an advantage, but not absolutely necessary, to have studied History at GCSE. If you have studied it at GCSE you will need at least a grade C.
