Mathematics (Core) at The Hertfordshire and Essex High School and Science College
The course consists of four compulsory units and nine optional units. These are assessed by two written examinations of 90 minutes each. Although this course is an AS Level, it continues throughout the full two years. The course is designed to complement other subjects which require mathematical skills, such as Psychology, Biology, Geography, but where AS Level Mathematics is not being studied.
In Year 12, we study two of the compulsory modules alongside elements of the optional units. In Year 13, we study the remaining two compulsory units and the remainder of the optional units required for the examination. Seven of the thirteen available units are studied and examined.
GCSE grade B in Mathematics.
