ICT Cambridge Technical level 3 Introductory Diploma at Carnforth High School

Course description

Students will learn to improve their application of ICT skills through a range of practical tasks. Students will be provided with essential knowledge, transferable skills and tools to improve their learning in other subjects with the aims of enhancing their employability when they leave education, contributing to their personal development and future economic well-being.

Course content

Year 12:

Unit 1: Communication and employability skills for IT

  • This unit will equip learners to use a variety of communication skills and provide them with an understanding of the skills an employer wants and how to adapt the message.

Unit 2: Information Systems

  • This unit demonstrates the types of information held in the workplace, how it can be used to gain a competi-tive edge and how it must comply with legislation.

Unit 17: Interactive Media Authoring

  • This unit helps learners to under-stand the production process of an interactive media product and the various formats and purposes of these products.

 

Year 13:

Students who continue in Year 13 will complete a further 3 units

Entry requirements

5 A*-Cs at GCSE including GCSE English and/or Mathematics. 

a minimum C grade for Vocational subjects you are hoping to study.

Assessment

All units in the Cambridge Technical Level 3 are assessed using controlled assessment which is externally moderated.

Financial information

All sixth form students are asked to purchase a large study book to complete their 4 hours of additional study.
