English Literature AS/A2 at Feltham Community College (School)

Course description

Candidates study two units at AS level and two units at A2 level. The course offers the integrated study of language and literature and covers a wide range of literary and non-literary texts, including the study of the language of speech. Each student is encouraged to develop his or her own personal and critical voice, and offered a range of opportunities for textual analysis, production and adaptation and creative writing. Comparative analysis is a key aspect of the work at A2 level. AS Units: • Unit 1: Reading of Literary and non-Literary Texts (30%) • Unit 2: Creative Writing (20%) A2 Units: • Unit 3: Analysing and Producing Performance Texts (20%) • Unit 4: Comparative Textual Analysis and Review (30%)
