A2 Level: Business Studies at King Edward VII Science and Sport College, Coalville

Course description

At A2, we select one of the main business functions to study in greater detail accounting, people in organisations, business production or operations management and you will then study business strategy, considering how businesses make decisions.

¨ Unit F293 - 296: choose one specialist area

¨ Unit F297: strategic management

 

 

Entry requirements

Pass or above in BTEC Level 2 First in Business or a grade C or above any other social studies GCSE.

 

Assessment

 2 exams (2 further units, one mandatory and one specialist unit from  a choice of options)

 

Future opportunities

You could take this course with other advanced level courses such as Accounting to prepare for higher education in areas of business studies, marketing, accounting, finance, human resources or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to business studies, marketing, finance and accounting, human resources and public relations. You could also look at doing a trainee management course within a company to gain the skills, understanding and experience that they require so you can work at management level.

Many students go on to study Business at university, specialising in a number of areas including Business and Marketing and Business and Organisational Management.

The qualification will also give students a clear understanding of many concepts in the world of business and so prepare for employment in a variety of business areas including retail, administration, banking and human resources
