English Language AS/A2 Level at Joyce Frankland Academy

Course description

Course outline - AS

English language is a course which engages students to explore language in both critical and creative ways to form an exciting opportunity to deconstruct and challenge the perceptions of our national language.

In Year 12, students will also get the opportunity to examine different influences on the way they communicate depending on our gender, power relations as well as the influences of modern technology and the diversity with which the English language is employed.

Course outline – A2

At A2, English language students will develop their critical and creative skills further with a challenging coursework research project where they will develop an independent linguistic study.

In addition to this, students will explore the ways in which language has developed and evolved over time as well as examining how children acquire language skills.

Entry requirements
