Course description

This is a brilliant opportunity for those interested in providing nail treatments and services. You will learn the skills necessary for employment in the Beauty Therapy profession, as a Nail Technician. 

Upon completion of this programme, this qualification can help you to progress in a wide range of roles within the industry including careers as a mobile, self-employed nail technician, an apprentice, or employment in a retail or salon environment. If you wish to continue with your studies, you could also progress onto a Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy.

During this course, you will study: Working in Beauty Related Industries; Following Health and Safety in The Salon; Client Care and Communication in Beauty Related Industries; Promote Products and Service to Clients in a Salon; Create an Image Based on a Theme Within the Hair and Beauty Sector; Salon Reception Duties; Provide Manicure and Pedicure Treatments; Provide and Maintain Nail Enhancement; Provide Nail Art; Apply Make-Up; Provide Eyelash and Brow Treatments and Apply Skin Tanning Techniques.


Entry requirements

You will need 4 GCSE’s including English Language and Science (minimum Grade C). You will also be required to pass a skills test as-well as be screened in Maths and English.
You will be required to attend an interview/experience day and provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).


Assessment is a combination of theory and practical assessments with online tests throughout the year.
