Early Years Teaching CPLD National Diploma at Lytham Sixth Form College
This Children’s Play, Learning and Development (CPLD) programme was developed following significant changes in the national requirements for practitioners working with early years children. It features a variety of core and specialist modules, including Child Development, Supporting Children’s Language and Literacy, Safeguarding, and Reflective Practice, which provide the relevant occupational competence required to be early years educators or to become an early years teacher. This programme has a requirement of 750 hours in placement to develop practice in the sector. On successful completion, students will be equipped to progress to our own BA (Hons) Professional Practice in Early Years or to undertake teacher training in early years.
5 GCSEs at grade C or above including English or Maths. (Students with a grade D in English or Maths will be accepted, but must study this GCSE alongside this programme.) Applicants will also need to pass a DBS check.
