Engineering EDEXCEL BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 at Cornwall College

Course description

Ideal if: you are interested in a combined theoretical and practical engineering qualification.

You'll need: at least four GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and mathematics, or a level 2 qualification in engineering.

You'll learn: about a wide range of engineering topics including electrical, mechanical, production, microprocessors, CAD and pneumatics.

Expect: your assignments and projects to be assessed throughout your course.

You'll love: developing additional employment skills in communication, presentation and time management, on this broad and flexible syllabus.

You'll go onto: employment within the industry or further study at university level, such as our Foundation Degree in Engineering.

Course content

Content includes mechanical, electrical, design, CAD, production and electronics amongst the seventeen units in the course.  The course has no written exams and assessed soley through regular coursework.  The course also develops key transferable skils in communications, present  Tation and time management.

You will need at least four GCSEs at grade C to include English and mathematics   

Future opportunities

Progression includes our own foundation degrees, full university degrees, employment or other courses within the college.  There are no written exams for this course.
